OFCCP releases new compliance manual

It took many years to get it done, but the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has completely revamped its manual providing guidance to its compliance officers on how to conduct affirmative action audits. The updated Federal Contract Compliance Manual (FCCM) is now posted on the agency’s website. It isn’t binding on employers, but it provides valuable insight into how the agency analyzes a federal contractor’s data, policies, and procedures. There’s one snag, though: The new manual doesn’t incorporate the newly announced rules on affirmative action for protected veterans and people with disabilities. Be sure to register for our September 12, 2013, webinar explaining the new rules, which are expected to take effect in early March 2014. Agency representatives have verbally stated that they plan to update the manual again with the new veterans/disabilities rules, but it’s unknown how long the process may take.
