Wage and Hour Issues for Supervisors
Course Description
This 90-minute, in-person class will provide supervisors with a basic understanding of employee rights and protections under federal and state wage and hour laws (the laws of the state in which your employees are located will be used). Armed with this understanding, your supervisors will learn why they must consistently and fairly enforce policies on meals, breaks, and overtime and follow the company’s payroll and timekeeping procedures. Working in a group on realistic scenarios, supervisors will also learn how to handle common wage and hour issues and when it is necessary to contact HR. The class is taught by a Vigilant Law Group employment attorney using PowerPoint and an interactive format. We recommend Intro to the Supervisor’s Role and Responsibilities as a precursor to this class.
