WASHINGTON: L&I offers heat stress resources

Washington’s Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) offers numerous training and education resources on its Be Heat Smart webpage, to help employers comply with emergency heat stress regulations that took effect on July 13, 2021. Resources include a customizable outdoor heat exposure prevention plan, a self-paced training module (which you should supplement with any company-specific information) a heat illness training kit (which includes a PowerPoint module that you can customize to your specific operation), and other useful materials.

Tips: Check out L&I’s Be Heat Smart webpage for additional resources, read our recent Alert on Washington’s emergency heat illness rules, and contact your Vigilant safety professional with any questions.
