On June 7, 2024, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) released a new list of federal supply and service contractors it intends to review in the coming months for affirmative action compliance. This Corporate Scheduling Announcement List (CSAL) is a courtesy heads-up, showing which companies will be selected for random affirmative action audits.

This most recent CSAL contains only federal supply and service contractors, not construction contractors. According to the OFCCP’s explanation of its methodology, it downloaded federal contracts from the USASpending.gov database, looked for companies with current supply and service contracts worth at least $50,000, and focused on U.S. establishments (locations) with at least 500 employees, among other criteria. The agency also balanced the selections across its offices, prioritized the highest-employee count locations, ensured that no more than two establishments were selected for any parent company, selected two financial institutions for each of OFCCP’s six regions, and selected one college/university per OFCCP region.

Tips: In addition to these scheduled reviews, the OFCCP will also investigate complaints from individual employees or applicants. We recently reported on a number of financial settlements that OFCCP obtained this spring from both routine affirmative action audits and complaint investigations. If your organization holds federal contracts or subcontracts, Vigilant can prepare your written affirmative action plan (AAP) for a reasonable annual fee.
