Affirmative Action Basics

Course Description

This course offers an overview of affirmative action requirements for employers with federal supply or service contracts/subcontracts worth at least $50,000. Anyone with responsibilities in human resources, recruitment, or employment data recordkeeping will benefit from participating. This class starts with an overview of what affirmative action means to you and

the company, followed by an explanation of the race/ethnicity, gender, veteran, and disability categories you’re required to track. We then dive into outreach, applicant tracking, and obligations to current employees. We cover the basic requirements of your written affirmative action plan and discuss additional employment-related obligations for federal contractors. We wrap up with recordkeeping, legal authority, and enforcement by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). This course is complimentary for Vigilant affirmative action clients.
