Self-Funded Medical Plan Options, OptiFlex
Premera Blue Cross and Vigilant have partnered together to offer a new suite of self-funded medical plan options, OptiFlex! Groups of 51 or more enrolled employees now have a unique opportunity to experience self-funding without being overly expensive or complicated.
Vigilant’s OptiFlex medical plans are identical to the current fully-insured menu, but offered as 12-month contracts. All plans can be combined with our existing ancillary products (a $10,000 Life/AD&D benefit is mandatory) and presented on one consolidated bill.

Self-funding can be complicated and risky, especially the first year. With OptiFlex, you’ll experience the combination of administration, stop-loss insurance and claims payment in one best in class package. - Limited Liability
Low claims years result in surplus sharing, while higher than expected claims are covered by stop-loss at no additional charge. If there is a claims surplus the company is eligible for a 50% refund of surplus. - Affordability
Vigilant has negotiated preferred pricing with Premera Blue Cross. - Claims Transparency
Understand your claims so you know your cost drivers and can manage them. You will have access to online reporting of claims data to help manage costs over the long term. - Ancillary Options, Consolidated Billing and Online Administration
Purchase optional ancillary benefits (Dental, Vision and Life/AD&D) and conveniently pay for all lines of coverage through consolidated billing provided by Benefit Solutions, Inc. (BSI). Employee enrollment changes (additions, terminations, etc.) and payments can be made electronically using BSI's online administration platform.
