Updated COBRA subsidy notices issued

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has issued updated model COBRA subsidy notices, which include information on the recent changes brought about by the Temporary Extension Act of 2010. In addition to updating existing notices, the DOL also issued a new “Supplemental Information Notice” to be given to individuals who elected and maintained COBRA coverage based on an involuntary termination that occurred on or after March 1, 2010, or based on a reduction of hours that was followed by a termination of employment that occurred between March 2 and March 31, 2010. For more information, see our Legal Guide, “COBRA Provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2010” (6015).
