1:30-2:30 p.m. Pacific / 3:30-5:30 Eastern (open for registration)
The Oregon legislature recently ended a busy session, passing several employment bills that will bring big changes to Oregon employers. Get up to speed on what changes are coming and hear practical tips from our attorneys on how to bring your workplace into compliance.
The Oregon employment bills covered in this complimentary webinar will include:
- Pay equity (HB 2005), which provides that employees in protected classes must be paid the same wage as other employees in the same job category. With the passage of this bill, Oregon became the first state in the country to adopt a pay equity law that protects so many categories of employees. This is a significant new law that will present unique challenges for compliance;
- Daily overtime for manufacturers (HB 3458), which clarifies an employer’s obligation when an employee is entitled to both daily and weekly overtime, and also imposes a maximum hours per week limitation;
- Oregon sick leave amendments (SB 299), which clarify a few areas of ambiguity in Oregon’s sick leave law that originally went into effect on January 1, 2016; and
- Predictive scheduling (SB 828), which requires employers in certain industries to provide advance notice to employees about their work schedules.
This webinar is complimentary, but you must register to attend. Register online or by contacting Kailee Dinius (800-733-8621 or KaileeD@vigilant.org). If you are unable to attend but would like us to send you a link to the recorded webinar after it takes place, please contact Kailee with your name, company name, and email address.
