CALIFORNIA: State launches COVID-19 employer portal

COVID-19Employee BenefitsLeave Laws

The California Labor & Workforce Development Agency (LWDA) has launched a new portal to serve as a “one-stop hub for California employers to quickly find up-to-date state and local county COVID-19 guidance by industry.” The new site uses guidance already available from state and local sources, including information about benefits, paid sick leave, immediate steps to take following a COVID-19 (coronavirus) case in the workplace, and how to re-open safely.

Select your industry and county from a drop down menu and then answer a few questions about your current COVID-19 practices to generate a customized road map with information and links to help you operate and/or reopen in a safe and compliant manner. No business names or other personal information is collected and you will see a disclaimer that the “information in this portal will not be used for the purpose of enforcement.” The portal will be updated with state and local guidance on an ongoing basis.

Tips: The portal provides summarized information about California’s COVID-19 industry guidance and isn’t intended to provide legal advice. Should you have questions or concerns with any state or local COVID-19-related guidelines, contact your Vigilant Law Group employment attorney with any legal questions and your Vigilant safety professional with any safety questions.
