With Vigilant since 2010, Scott is our Pulp & Paper Manager. In his past life, he worked as the Division Human Resource Manager with a Vigilant member organization. Scott's arrival at Vigilant was a doubly good time for us: not only did he come to us well-versed in all things pulp and all things paper but we could vouch for all the training he received, since he received it from Vigilant as a member.
Scott's position allows him to work with a variety of companies throughout the Northwest, with most of them related to the pulp-and-paper industry. Scott is primarily in charge of the Employee Relations Program that Vigilant manages under a contract with the American Forest & Paper Association and includes working with approximately 50 pulp-and-paper companies and over 200 mills across the U.S. With that comes responsibility to manage an on-line labor database, produce a monthly newsletter, host a monthly bargaining conference call, produce member-requested surveys and reports, and arrange three annual meetings. Sound busy enough? Yeah, we thought so, too. But if we ever need anything else, Scott is always up to the challenge.
