Affirmative Action Essentials Workshop

Course Description

This workshop is for employers with at least 50 employees and federal contracts or subcontracts worth at least $50,000.

We will focus on basic procedures and record-keeping that are critical for complying with current enforcement from the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The hiring process is where the OFCCP historically has found adverse impact and collected the biggest monetary settlements, so that will be our primary focus.

This is a great opportunity to get your affirmative action questions answered and share ideas with peers.

Schedule

Registration and continental breakfast: 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Presentation: 8:30 a.m. to noon

Learning Outcomes

In this course, topics will include:

  • Advertising and recruitment;
  • Establishing basic qualifications;
  • Working with temporary agencies;
  • Documenting application stage reached and reasons for rejection;
  • Gathering data on race/ethnicity, gender, veteran, and disability status;
  • New affirmative action rules regarding veterans and people with disabilities;
