Are your attorneys contract attorneys?

No. Our employment law and labor attorneys are Vigilant employees. We employ attorneys who embody our philosophy of putting employers’ needs first and foremost. Without the pressure of billable hours, our attorneys can invest in thoroughly understanding your business and taking extra care to reduce your exposure to costly employment issues.

How long have you been in business?

We’ve been in business for more than 50 years. In 1960 a group of companies had the concept of creating a shared resource of labor relations professionals, HR specialists, and safety consultants to advise on the already-complex issues of employing people. For half a century we operated as TOC and later as TOC Management Services. Today we are Vigilant and our staff includes employment and labor law attorneys, workers’ comp claims managers, safety professionals and learning and development experts.

Can you help me with my employee handbook?

Yes! Included in your membership, your attorney will provide a full compliance review of your employee handbook. We’ll point out areas of risk, recommend improvements and provide essential policies.

How do we get started?

It’s easy. All we need is a signed application for membership. Within 30 days of becoming a Vigilant member, we'll schedule an HR risk assessment and safety hazard assessment which will include solutions to any issues discovered. Moving forward, our goal is to partner with you to stop problems before they happen.
