EXPERIENCE
With Vigilant since 2004, Derek became Vigilant’s fourth President in January 2015.
As President, Derek is privileged to serve as an ambassador of Vigilant’s rich heritage and a champion of the organization’s future. Derek is deeply committed to ensuring long-term, ever-increasing value to Vigilant’s members and vitality to the organization itself through disciplined strategic focus and “against the grain” problem solving. Additionally, Derek is devoted to creating a work environment permeated by Vigilant’s “others before self” core value, and to serving Vigilant’s employees and their families through his leadership.
Prior to becoming President, Derek served as Vigilant’s Vice President of Operations, where he oversaw Vigilant’s member services, reconstructed Vigilant’s health benefit plans, and provided leadership to several health and pension trusts.
